Mr. & Ms. Articulate

Meaning: Articulate refers to someone who can express themselves clearly and effectively.

The event is a comprehensive assessment of participants' cognitive abilities, creativity, and communication skills. The competition consists of three rounds, each designed to test different aspects of a participant's skills.

A 3-round competition to evaluate participants' cognitive abilities, creativity, and communication skills

Top 8 boys and 8 girls will proceed to the final round.
Winners will be titled Mr. Articulate and Ms. Articulate.

Round-wise Details:

1. Round 1: Visual Perception and Problem-Solving (30 seconds)

Assess visual perception and problem-solving skills.
Participants must observe and analyze an image, noting down the correct arrangement or missing content.

2. Round 2: General Knowledge and Language Skills (40 seconds)

Evaluate general knowledge, language skills, and ability to work under pressure.
Participants will answer questions on various topics, including general knowledge, grammar, and language skills.

3. Round 3: On-the-Spot Situations and Communication Skills (2 minutes)

Assess ability to think on their feet, communicate effectively, and respond to unexpected situations.
Participants will respond to on-the-spot situations or topics, demonstrating communication skills, creativity, and critical thinking.

Event Rules and Regulations:

1. Conduct and Equipment:

No electronic gadgets allowed.
Participants with the lowest scores will be eliminated.

2. Scoring and Winner Declaration:

Winners are declared based on overall performance.
Marks from Rounds 1 and 2 will not be carried forward to Round 3.
Only two winners will be declared: one boy and one girl.

3. Important Notes:

Participants must adhere to event rules and regulations.
Judges' and organizers' decisions are final and binding.

Writing Competition

Note: This is a writing competition among all the participants.

Meaning: The competition could encourage participants to explore philosophical questions, delve into existential themes, and find meaning in their own unique experiences.

Objective:

To showcase our talents by writing imaginatively on a given topic.

Explanation about the Event:

This is a writing competition.
Each participant will be given 15 minutes to write.
Participants must choose any one mythological character they are interested in and write about it.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Explanation of the character
- Sentence formation
- Amount of description written

Rules:

Participants must provide the following details:
- Full Name
- Year & Branch
- College Name
- Registration Number
- Phone Number
- Date
Participants can start writing about the chosen character before the allocated time completes.
The total description should be around 200 words for better evaluation.

Turn Court

The Art of Persuasion and Contradiction

Objective:

Develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and adaptability in students.
Encourage participants to confidently articulate and counter opposing perspectives.

Timing and Venue:

Date: 28th February 2025
Time: 12:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Venue: General Eng Block

Procedure:

The event will consist of a single exciting round where participants demonstrate their ability to argue both sides of a topic.

The Round:

Each participant will be given a topic on the spot.
The participant will have 4 minutes to speak:
- 2 minutes to present a positive or supportive argument on the topic.
- 2 minutes to "turn the coat" and speak negatively or critically on the same topic.
Participants must stick strictly to the assigned topic throughout their speech.

Evaluation:

Marks will be allotted by the judges based on:
- Clarity and coherence of arguments
- Ability to present balanced perspectives
- Confidence and fluency in delivery
- Quality of content delivered
- Body language
- Confidence of the participant

Winner Selection:

The top scorers will be declared the Winner and Runner-up.

Emperor StrikeDown: The Debate That Crowns Champions

Theme: Emperor StrikeDown is an exhilarating debate (A formal argument) event where the ruling team (Emperor) must justify and defend their decisions against challenges from Feudal Lords (Remaining Teams) in the kingdom.

Event Description

This competition provides a dynamic platform to showcase participants' cognitive prowess, creativity, and communication skills. Comprising two thoughtfully designed rounds, the event tests diverse aspects of debating abilities.

Round 1: The Scrutiny Round

Duration: 4–5 minutes

Objective: To evaluate quick thinking, observational skills, and the ability to articulate ideas persuasively under time constraints.

Procedure:

Teams of five each will engage in brief yet impactful debates.
Advancing teams will be determined based on participation numbers.
Participants must assertively present their stances and counter opposing viewpoints.

Evaluation Criteria:

Content & Communication: Depth and clarity of arguments.
Discipline & Team Participation: Collaborative effort from all team members in a dignified manner.
Respectful Responses: Politeness in addressing opposition.
Handling Opposition: Wisdom in tackling challenges posed by Feudal Lords.
Fluency: Smooth, coherent expression of ideas.
Initiative: Leadership and proactiveness in discussion.

Teams scoring the lowest will be eliminated, while top performers progress to the final round.

Round 2: Emperor StrikeDown

Duration: 5–6 minutes

Objective: To test resilience, relevance, and communication skills under pressure.

Procedure:

The final round introduces high-stakes debate sessions.
The emperor team implements a contentious decision.
Feudal Lords challenge the decision within the given timeframe.

Evaluation Criteria:

Content quality and its persuasive power.
Active participation and collaboration.
Confidence and compelling body language.
The emperor team's ability to defend their decision against persistent challenges.

One team will be crowned as “The Empire King,” with a runner-up earning the title “The Lord.”

Event Rules & Regulations

Event Structure: Both rounds proceed uninterrupted. Teams will be eliminated in the first round based on performance. Advancement depends on the total number of participating teams.
Conduct and Equipment: Use of electronic gadgets is strictly prohibited. Any form of misconduct leads to immediate disqualification.
Scoring & Winner Declaration: Scores from Round 1 do not carry forward. Each round has its own criteria. Winners are determined by their overall performance in the final round.

Titles and Recognition

Champions: The winning team earns the prestigious title of “Emperor StrikeDown Champions.”
Runner-Up: Acknowledged as “The Lord.”

Literary Quiz

Literary Quiz Event

Meaning: A Literary Quiz tests participants' knowledge in various domains, showcasing their cognitive skills and intellectual prowess.

Event Description:

This quiz aims to evaluate participants' knowledge across multiple zones, including sports, movies, general knowledge, history, science, and technology. Teams must consist of 5 participants each. The quiz is designed to challenge and engage participants with a variety of questions within a stipulated timeframe.

Rounds and Rules:

1. Elimination Round (Fill in the Blanks)

To start, there will be an elimination round based on the number of teams participating.
This round consists of a written exam with fill-in-the-blanks questions.
The exam will be for 20 marks and will determine which teams proceed to the next round.

2. Question Format and Time Limit (Main Quiz)

The teams that pass the elimination round will participate in the main quiz.
Each team will be asked questions from six different zones: sports, movies, general knowledge, history, science, and technology.
Teams will have 20 seconds to answer each question.
If a team cannot answer within the given time, the question will be passed to the next team.

3. Procedure

Questions will be asked in a sequence, team by team.
The elimination and main quiz rounds will be conducted continuously.

4. Scoring

Each correct answer in the main quiz earns points for the team.
The team with the highest scores at the end of the quiz will be awarded the first prize, and the second-highest will receive the second prize.
