This Department was established in 1995 accredited thrice by NBA in 2003,2007,2013 and now offering B.Tech (EEE) with an intake of 120 and M.Tech (Power Systems engineering) with an intake of 6. The department has Electrical Machines Lab, Computer Simulation Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Electrical Measurements Lab,Control Systems Lab,Micro processers Lab, Electical Workshop Lab and Power Systems Lab with state of art equipment, IOT Lab, Electronic Design Lab, Student Project Wearhouse & Training Lab. The major equipment includes Power Network Analyzer, DSP Based Drives, Digital Storage Oscilloscopes, Cable Fault Locator, Thermal Image Camera, Numerical Relay Test Kit and Lab Volt Electromechanical Training kit. The Professional Softwares available include PSCAD, ETAP, MATLAB, PSIM and MIPOWER. The students of the department have bagged 5 times University First Ranks and all India 4th , 11th and 12th etc. in GATE so far.

Engineering Graduates will be able to:
1. Engineering knowledge:Â Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
2. Problem analysis:Â Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
3. Design/development of solutions:Â Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
