Six-Day FDP on Outcome Based Education (OBE) Successfully Conducted at Bapatla Engineering College

A six-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Outcome Based Education (OBE) was successfully conducted from August 3 to 8, 2026, at Bapatla Engineering College (Autonomous). The programme was organized in collaboration with the Electronics & ICT Academy, NIT Warangal, and sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

The FDP was attended by 54 faculty members and covered various important aspects of OBE implementation, including Outcome Based Curriculum, Course Outcomes (COs), Programme Outcomes (POs), Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs), NBA processes, SAR preparation, Rubrics, Course Articulation, Attainment Calculation, and Continuous Quality Improvement.



The programme featured eminent resource persons including Prof. K. R. Suresh, BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru; Prof. U. S. Sahu, NITTTR Chennai, Hyderabad; Prof. V. Sivakumar, NITTTR Chennai, Bengaluru; Prof. A. Sarath Babu, NIT Warangal; Prof. A. Venu Gopal, NIT Warangal; and Prof. K. Subrahmanyam, NRI Institute of Technology, Agiripalli. They conducted expert sessions on OBE, curriculum development, teaching methodologies, accreditation processes, and quality improvement in higher education.

On the concluding day, Dr. Somayajulu, Director, NIT Manipur, addressed the participants and shared valuable insights on Outcome Based Education, academic quality, continuous improvement, and the role of faculty in enhancing educational standards.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. B. Srinivasa Rao, Principal, Bapatla Engineering College, as the Coordinator, with Dr. P. Vinod Babu, Head of the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, serving as the Co-Coordinator.

The FDP concluded successfully with an online assessment, feedback session, and valedictory programme.
